Every Venn hire is covered for the full 24 months from the start date. If the hire leaves during that window for any reason other than the role being eliminated, Venn runs the replacement search at no additional cost.

A guarantee that matches the actual failure window.

Most recruiting firms guarantee their hires for 30 to 90 days. At the senior level, almost no failures surface in that window. The candidate is still in ramp; the hiring manager is still calibrating; the team is still adjusting. The failures that emerge — wrong-stage hire, hidden-context mismatch, founder-CEO chemistry problem — typically surface across months six through twenty-four.

The 24-month window is calibrated to cover the actual failure curve, not the convenient billing window. The guarantee period ends after most failures have surfaced and been resolved. Hires that survive the 24-month window are statistically far more likely to stay through their typical tenure cycle, which is the firm’s structural commitment to the placement.

What triggers a replacement.

If the hire leaves at any point during the 24-month coverage window — voluntary departure, involuntary departure, or any combination — Venn runs a replacement search at no additional charge. The replacement search runs against the same target salary band, with the rate recalculating if the actual hire salary differs.

Who runs the replacement.

A senior recruiting director with full context on the original search. Where possible, the same director who ran the original engagement leads the replacement, carrying forward the intake calibration, the candidate market intelligence, and the hiring-manager relationship. When that isn’t possible, the original director hands the search to another senior director with a structured transfer of context. Either way, the replacement search starts from a calibrated baseline rather than from zero.

What the guarantee does not cover.

Role elimination. If the role the hire occupied is eliminated as part of a layoff, restructuring, or strategic change, the placement did not fail — the position ended. In that case the guarantee does not trigger, and the engagement closes at the next monthly cycle.
